Road craft on track

I’m not much of a track rider. Going fast has never appealed as much as going far. So how come I find myself in full leathers, fixing a yellow sticker with the number 17 on it on to the headlight of a Honda CB650R at the British Superbike School? Because I want to get better at riding on roads, that’s why. And there is a genuine link, honestly…

Last month I did a DVSA Enhanced Rider course with Mike Abbott, who also runs the track school. One of the development areas that he identified during that ride was my cornering.
