My Life in Boats

Rick Carter, owner of 35-metre Crescent Custom Miss Stephanie

When I was a kid, my father had a small boat and that’s how I got hooked. I was busy building a business, so I didn’t buy my first big boat, a 17-metre Hatteras, until 1992. Next was a 24-metre Hatteras, then a 33-metre Broward, and now I am with the nicest boat I’ve ever owned, my 35-metre Crescent.

My business partner and I have been in the casino business in Gulfport, Mississippi, for 32 years. In 2018 we built the Beach Casino with floor-to-ceiling glass so guests can enjoy the view of the marina and beach.

My wife and I like to spend time in the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. My captain has been with me for over 15 years. He knows all the little bays
