His stories encourage all children, boys and girls, to learn the importance of a good work ethic, inspire drive, determination to follow one's dreams, and believe in their hearts that all things are possible. Ken’s books help to instill American exceptionalism, the fact that we are blessed to be living in the greatest country in history and we all have to work together to keep it great. Ken is a true Alaskan--born in Fairbanks, attended school in Seward throughout his childhood, and was instilled with a strong work ethic at a young age. He was gainfully employed paying taxes at the age of 12. Growing up on the North Gulf Coast of Alaska, Ken became fascinated with the sea, ships, and the men who made their living far from shore. An as a young boy he dreamed of adventure. At the age of 16 he made his first crab fishing voyage--from that point on Ken was determined to spend his life as a crab fisherman--and he did. After 20 winters fishing crab in Alaska waters, serving as engineer on several vessels, and a lead man on deck, Ken is more than qualified to tell true tales of his life as Ken the Alaskan Crab Fisherman.view less
