RESPECT, SISTER
atherine Warburton started practising in the field of environmental law in 1997, before the subject matter was acknowledged as being as critical as we now, based solely on peer review. She has also been recognised in Chambers Global as a Band One Environmental Lawyer in South Africa for a number of years. In her 2013 LLM thesis, ‘Evaluating South African EIA processes in the Context of the Gautrain Project’, she proposed changes to environmental impact assessment processes for large infrastructure projects developed through public-private partnerships. She graduated cum laude. Unlike many, she factors the on-site and neighbouring human community into the sustainability solution too.
