If there ever was a witness testifying to the strength of automotive industrialization in America, it was apparent in the output of motor production during the first five months of 1940. Clearly, a vehicle chassis, body and interior were nothing until an engine was dropped under the hood. That engine was — and is — the heartbeat and power that made the automobile successful.
