The roar of motors was being heard around the world, according to the Automobile Manufacturer’s Association (AMA) when it issued its December 1941 edition of Automobile Facts. The ›rst sentence in the lead article of that magazine was a tip-off on the exact timing of the article: “Never have the milestones of automotive history recorded a year of greater transition than the twelve months of 1941, now drawing to a spectacular close.”
