The past year has inspired many of us to slow down and reconnect with nature, yet one artist who was ahead of the curve in that respect is Kurt Jackson. Over the course of a 40-year career to date, the Cornwall-based painter and Oxford zoology graduate has used his vast canvases to tackle equally big issues. “The environment underpins everything I do and make in terms of how I work, live and what interests me,” he explains. “It steers my research and understanding of what makes the world tick.
