Test fleet: BMW R 1250 RT LE

Some motorcycles you can ride a fair way without nothing particularly curious jumping out at you. Not because they are not good, but because nothing really stands out. I have ridden some bikes for days, and then when a mate asked me what it’s like all I managed was a shrug and “OK”.

The RT is definitely not one of those bikes. It is the polar opposite. I have so much to talk about that I don’t know where to start, and we’re only at the very beginning of our journey together. Before I get any further, here’s the thing: if you want to know anything specific as I’m bound to gloss over a lot of stuff – there’s just so much to cover with this bike…
