ASK THE EXPERTS

Q // I’m due to get married this summer and our foreign honeymoon is no longer feasible. Can you suggest some special UK alternatives?

The Isles of Scilly, 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall, are a good bet, offering all the honeymoon essentials: white-sand beaches, turquoise water and island-hopping. Zip over to St Mary’s by boat, plane or chopper and bed down at the Star Castle Hotel, with gorgeous views, just-caught seafood and a local vineyard offering wine tastings (from £276, B&B). From here, it’s an easy hop over to the other islands, including St Martin’s (stay at beachfront Karma St Martin’s from £220,), Tresco (try the luxurious sea garden cottages, from £1,625 for a week, ) and tiny Bryher (the best hotel is Hell Bay Hotel, from £145 per person for B&B and dinner, ).
