n Pixar’s spin on the continental coming-of-age movie, the besties are sea monsters who can assume human form on land. director Enrico Casarosa (who previously helmed delightful short ) draws on childhood summers spent in Italy’s riviera ‘Cinque Terre’ (‘five towns’) for a personal film with a hand-crafted aesthetic. “The artist’s hand is something I think a lot about,” he says.
