Elspeth Beard
I remember reading Elspeth’s book, The Lone Rider, and how it left me with the longing for more adventures. When the opportunity presented itself to speak to Elspeth, you can imagine I didn’t hesitate to take it. Like the book, our conversation left me inspired and completely in awe of Elspeth and her adventurous life.
MAJA: You’d travelled the world before the internet, not being able to easily research the countries, cultures or languages. How did that make you feel?
ELSPETH: At the time I didn’t really think it was that adventurous. It was just something I did. It was different of course then as there wasn’t any of the technology we are all so used to these days. But at the time I just thought: “I’m going to try and ride my motorbike around the world.”
