Not every fashion brand can say they’ve experienced the type of growth Elk has over the past 17 years – but then, not every brand has matched their own expansion with an ever-increasing commitment to transparency. The label – now best known for its extensive range of simple, colour-blocked and pattern-adorned clothing, footwear and accessories – started life as a humble line of handmade silver jewellery back in 2004. Fast forward to 2021 and the brand now produces bi-annual collections, employs 110 people and has just released a second, highly detailed transparency report – not bad for a family-run business that still boasts a head office in which you’re likely to find the occasional child, dog, or both.
