Killer DRESS

She took the dress from the wardrobe and held it up against her; the soft material shimmered in the light. Tiny sequins decorating the bodice reached around to the exquisite low backline. It was silver, and glamorous in a classy way.

Cheryl was used to decent clothes, famed among her friends for her style, in fact. But this dress was something else.

As a respected and hard-working lawyer, she dressed in smart suits, grey or navy for the office, black or pinstriped for the courts. So her daytime attire was rigid and non-negotiable. Evenings, she was definitely smart-casual when eating out or drinking with friends, of which she had many.

But this fabulous dress was for a very special occasion. Cheryl was beyond excited at the prospect of her looming birthday party scheduled for two weeks’ time. Turning 50 was a milestone she was happy to embrace.

She put the silver dress back into the wardrobe and concentrated on her make-up. Putting the finishing touches to her face, she applied pale pink lipstick, which matched
