Loskopdam for the win

The Loskop Dam wall, which was built by hand between 1934 and 1938, then raised another 9 m to 54 m between 1974 and 1980, holds an impressive 348 million cubic litres of water. The resort, under the Forever banner, lies on the dam wall’s eastern side.

It is a large resort, rich in indigenous varieties of trees: red ivory, common hook-thorn, rooibos, buffalo thorn, coral and splendid acacia, to name but a few. The trees are marked with name plates. Set a challenge for the young ones to see who can find the most tree species.
