WITH just a few needles, thread, scissors and a dream, Ghela Dayaram travelled as a passenger Indian from India to South Africa in 1909.
He left behind his wife, Kashibhen, and their three sons, Naran, Harkishan and Gangara, in Gandevi, a city in the state of Gujarat, to fulfil his dream of owning a tailoring shop.
