Removing the fear of dying A DOULA SHARES HER WISDOM

Carol Wales was eight when she organised a funeral for her cat Tubby. “I put my dressing gown on back-to-front, got this nail box and made the surrounds of a grave,” she recalls. “I was adamant about having this ceremony and honouring the cat’s life.”

Five decades later, Carol’s care, curiosity and compassion around death has seen her carve out a career as an end-of-life doula, who has assisted hundreds of people through the final phases of their lives.
