Barrow Hill HAMPSHIRE

Last season our Christmas shoot fell on 22 December. With the country once again going into lockdown, it turned out to be our last day in the field until this coming October. What a way to bow out. I’ve been a part of this Hampshire DIY shoot for 13 years and I have never seen our birds fly so consistently well on every drive. They were nothing short of magnificent and truly appreciated by the team of Guns. It was a mild day with little wind, perfect for our shoot. And it was dry – it’s always dry at Barrow Hill.

The portents were good from the off. Our first drive, Hop Garden, often shows one or two very good birds, but on this day, for whatever reason, every single one gained height over the Gun line, presumable making for West Sussex.
