Sitting at the water’s edge with my kids, we waited patiently for a fish to nibble.

A single mum to my girl, Stevie-Marie, then 10, and son, Robbie, eight, cash was often tight.

So we made special memories on camping trips, fishing together and eating dinner by the fire.

My two youngest were like chalk and cheese. While Stevie-Marie was reserved and serious, Robbie was happy and carefree.
