Bell Orchestre: House Music
his collective from Montreal calls itself a mini orchestra. Behind it are musicians from Arcade Fire (Sarah Neufeld and Richard Reed Parry). The new album „House Music“ - the first in over ten years - was largely improvised and consists of electronic and acoustic elements that have been put together to form one big song, so to say. In terms of genre, the whole thing is difficult to classify, as the music, like a symphony, goes through a wide variety of styles, whether classical music, electronica, jazz, folk, avant-garde or post-rock. More important than the categorization is the spontaneous character and that the pieces, inspired by Talk Talk or The Orb and created in Sarah Neufeld‘s completely wired „house“, interlock and pile up to create a wall of sounds in such a way that it is a real pleasure.
