PLANTING SEEDS VS SEEDLINGS

Seeds are the cheapest way to grow vegetables and offer the biggest range. But they take more time and need careful watering until they germinate. Seedlings establish better and will be three weeks ahead of seeds. Some plants, like carrots, parsnip, dill and coriander, are best grown from seeds as they don’t cope with transplantation. Follow packet instructions but, generally, plant seeds about 2.5 times deeper
