Invert PDF colours so they’re easier to read

I’ve been keeping myself entertained during the latest lockdown by reading World War One unit diaries from The National Archives, as you recommended in Issue 597’s Grow Your Family Tree column. As you rightly say, they’re fascinating to read, but they can stretch to hundreds of pages for each volume. After a while, I found them a strain on my eyes.

A fix for this is to invert the colours in the pages of the PDF, so they appear white on black, not black on white. To do this, first download the unit diary you need (or indeed any PDF you want to invert), then open it in Chrome or Edge. You now need to change the code on the page. Do this by first
