Today, she’s one of the leading voices on stress, helping thousands of women in New Zealand and abroad to lead happier, healthier lives. But as a child, Dr Libby Weaver was a worrier. So much so that at the age of eight, she was given the serenity prayer by her mother, who hoped it might help Libby to find her calm.

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference,” reads the oft-quoted prayer.

Little did Libby know back then, but the mantra would stay with the now-46-year-old, helping her through many of life’s trials and tribulations, and particularly this year, when the Covid-19 pandemic tipped her usual way of life on its head.
