Schoolwear sales slump as parents play waiting game

REDUCED sales at schoolwear and stationery shops indicate that many families’ finances were impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Friday, Gem Schoolwear in Juniper Road, Overport, had a steady stream of customers. However, it was not as busy as it usually is prior to the reopening of schools.

The store stocks locally-made uniforms for more than 200 primary and high schools.
