We all clearly remember how the decade ended – with the coronavirus being reported in news programmes. Although undeniably extremely serious, Covid-19 is having the effect of lessening public sympathy for other tragedies of the ‘twenty-tens’, including Zika virus, with its devastating impact on unborn children, and the deaths of so many in terrorist attacks, ethnic cleansing, and among those seeking a better life by crossing the Channel in overloaded crafts.
