► I loathe and detest Private Parking Companies (PPCs). Don’t get me wrong; I realise parking restrictions and enforcement are needed to prevent abuse. Shopping car parks need ‘turnover’ and customer-only restrictions, and it’s right and proper for paid parking to be protected from freeloaders.
No, my objection is to private parking’s business model. Because PPCs are effectively paid by the number of charges they issue, they frequently charge for the trivial and unimportant and, in some cases, by ‘mistake’.
