Changing of the guard

As professional football in South Africa marks a 50th anniversary, 21 of the 49 previous league championships have been won by the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates

They dominated the early days, collecting trophies and building up a legion of supporters that easily spills over from their base in the giant township in the outskirts of Johannesburg, through the rest of the country and across the borders.
