Piping another layer of glossy icing onto the three-tiered chocolate cake, I stood back to admire my work.
‘A few more,’ I said to myself, intricately placing a handful of golden sprinkles.
Carefully carrying the cake out of the kitchen, I placed it in the display cabinet at the front of the shop.
It was October 2012 and I’d just opened my very own cake shop.
After years of studying at catering college, I’d made it.
I loved seeing customers enjoy my baked treats.
Well, most of them.
