IN LOCKDOWN WITH THE DUKE IN WINDSOR CASTLE THE QUEEN SETS AN EXAMPLE TO THE NATION AS SHE LOOKS FORWARD TO THE START OF A MOMENTOUS YEAR

Like all of us, the Queen has had an extraordinary start to 2021. Usually January would see the monarch at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk, having spent Christmas there with her family.

This year, however, she is at Windsor Castle after sharing the festive season with the Duke of Edinburgh, no doubt reflecting on the upheaval of the past year and looking ahead to a brighter future.

This will be brought into sharper focus on 6 February, the day her beloved father George VI passed away in 1952.

This year, the 94-year-old Queen will not only honour his memory, as she does every year, she will also start her 70th year as monarch, a milestone that will culminate in celebrations on a par with those of her Diamond and Golden Jubilees.
