What 2021 will hold for SA

I AM probably not alone in holding my breath and waiting to see what 2021 will be like. To say that the past 10 months were tumultuous would be understating how disruptive and pervasive 2020 has been.

For those who are curious about the astrological faultiness of 2020, it was the Year of the Rat – according to the Chinese zodiac chart.

It is interesting to note that according to Chinese philosophy, the Year of the Rat symbolises new beginnings and renewals – since the rat represents the first animal in China’s astrological 12-year cycle.

If that was true then it certainly did not feel so. It was a year that could be more accurately depicted as vulnerability, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. And
