Stopping in front of a sign in the busy restaurant, I pretended to read it while I tried to catch my breath.
Smiling to the owner, I tried to hide my panting.
But I felt exhausted.
I could feel my chest tighten with the effort of walking down endless corridors.
It was February 2019, and I was inspecting a restaurant as part of my job as an environmental health officer.
