This season didn’t start well for supporters of Bundesliga strugglers FC Köln – and even the club clown has been feeling pretty miserable about it all.

The Billy Goats were due to welcome 9,000 fans to their opening league match in September, only for local officials to pull the plug at the last minute due to a spike in COVID-19 cases. Borussia Dortmund were watched by 11,500 a fortnight later, but Köln were allowed just 300 before the Bundesliga went back behind closed doors in early November.
