Q I’m just skimming through the February 2020 edition of CM and on page 77 at the bottom, you have a chap asking about diagnostic gear for his Volvo XC60. You recommended the Foxwell NT624 – an excellent choice in my humble opinion but, I suppose because it covers such a wide range of vehicles, its functionality is somewhat limited (ie. no activations, etc).

I’ve been retired from ‘the trade’ for a number of years now (I’m 73 years young) but still besotted with motor vehicles and look after all the family cars with VCDS and Multiecuscan to help me. Of late I’ve been looking for a system which will address a wider range of vehicles – there’s two Fiats, a Jazz, an Astra, a Kia, a Citigo and a Ceed in the family fleet at present. I very much like the look of the MaxiEcu package which is expandable to a large number of vehicles/manufacturers, has great functionality, and gives free software updates – like the VCDS.
