NO ONE QUITE LIKE TITO!

HE HAS one of the toughest jobs in government, controlling the country’s coffers, balancing the books, finding rands and cents when there’s little of that stuff to go around.

And in the course of doing his job, finance minister Tito Mboweni doesn’t hold anything back – even if he is at odds with his government.

His outspokenness hasn’t always made him popular in parliament and he admits he isn’t the easiest minister to manage.

“I have worked for and with a number of presidents,” Tito says.

“It’s a great honour, but I’m a difficult fella.”
