Hollywood hole-in-one

HOLLYWOOD actors are being cued to feature in a multi-million dollar movie that will delve into the afflictions and accomplishments of one of the country’s golfing greats, Papwa Sewgolum.

When Barry Cohen, an author and seasoned leader with international experience in start-ups, welfare, and event organising, decided to pen Sewshanker “Papwa” Sewgolum’s story, which was released this month, he knew it would be a compelling read.

In the book, Cohen credits Sewgolum with, inadvertently, landing significant blows in the fight against apartheid through the exquisite swish of his golf clubs, which brought him multiple local and international honours.

Some of Sewgolum’s significant championship wins include three Dutch Open victories (1959, 1960 and 1964), and, as the only “non-European” golfer in the field
