The Island Echo on the Isle of Wight, UK, has reported on the plan to run Diamond Races, a road race with hopes to one day rival the TT. When I first saw this I thought it may be the brainchild of a local councillor and would be dismissed as foolish and consigned to the scrap bin fairly quickly. Not so, there are some heavy hitters on board the business team promoting the race, and these guys probably give it the best chance it will ever get of succeeding.
