The human hand is one of the most complex pieces of natural engineering in our bodies.
Bryden Zaloum lost his right hand 34 years ago after rolling his off-road car during a race. Since then, he has led an active life, thanks initially to the titanium “claw” prosthesis he wore for three decades.
“The claw is strong and easy to use,” says Zaloum, 62, of Palmerston North. “It doesn’t break very often. It’s practical and you can get on with things.”
Equipped with the body-powered claw, he worked as a truck driver, had a career in IT,
