    Waialua Boat Club’s Labor Day Tournament

    Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Capt. Gerald Tanaka, the Waialua Boat Club (WBC) Labor Day Tournament chair, decided to postpone this year’s tournament to Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 25. Participants were able to fish for a total of two days and needed to let Gerald know in advance which days they would be participating.

    After an unpredictable week of unstable weather, the participants completed the postponed 2020 Labor Day Tournament. The fish were scarce, and anglers really had to hunt to find anything.

    On the first day, Capt. caught a 9-lb mahimahi on live ‘opelu. This was the only mahimahi caught, and it won the Mahimahi Division.
