How time flies. It is hard to believe that almost 20 years ago British Sugar ended its production at the Station Road factory in Bardney, Lincolnshire, after 70 years. Twenty years since our village, seven miles distant, witnessed trailer loads of beet being transported to the factory, occasionally clogging the roads with mud and roots, in turn making biking somewhat of a twitchy affair.
