The expanding port of the capital city of the Balearic Islands, Palma, is nestled in the western side of the sweeping arc of the Bay of Palma, and is set against a picturesque historic cityscape made up of the Baroque Cathedral of Santa Maria, Castell de Bellver and the royal palaces, including La Almudaina, Castell de Sant Carles and Marivent.
