    Amazon Faces Antitrust Charges From European Regulators

    EU accuses Amazon of exploiting data collected from other sellers for its own benefit. These are the first formal charges against the retail giant in a spate of antitrust probes in Europe and the U.S.

    Amazon has long argued that it does not use seller-specific data to directly compete with its own products and has generally rejected accusations of anti-competitive behavior.

    European Union officials are accusing Amazon of breaking EU antitrust rules by exploiting the data it collects from other sellers on its platform for its own benefit. These are the first formal charges against the tech and retail giant in a spate of antitrust investigations around the world.
