PROTEIN-PACKED DINNERS

As a triathlete it’s important to consume regular good-quality protein throughout the day. Protein’s an essential macronutrient for growth and repair; eating protein will help you adapt and recover from training as well as reduce fatigue and muscle damage. It’s why post-training/racing shakes are so popular. They have their place. But don’t neglect real foods. I’m talking lean meat, fish, eggs, pulses, nuts and seeds, dairy and soy foods. They’re all good sources of protein and, unless you’re on a restricted plan or going through a period of heavy back-to-back training, you’ll generally get enough protein from a well-balanced and varied diet.
