WINTER WORKOUT
Now nature is enjoying its seasonal winter rest, there is more time to explore the delicious flavours growing on the allotment. I adore winter vegetables: parsnips, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, kale, leeks, beetroot, carrots and more inspired seasonal meals filled with warmth and colour. Rosemary, sage and thyme from the garden, along with parsley, chervil and coriander growing under cover, help to create depths of flavour and add extra vitamins and minerals. Home preserved and stored vegetables including squash, onions and garlic which adorn kitchen shelves and even the tops of my book cases expand the December culinary repertoire in my kitchen.
