Hilo Trollers August Tournament Results

he Hilo Trollers completed a safe and successful regular monthly tournament on Sunday, August 2. Many of the Trollers captains had participated in both the July 5 and July 19 tournaments, so they had a tight turnaround; nevertheless, the event saw a good turnout of 13 boats. Six landed qualifying flagfish, and some nice-sized otaru were weighed in. Some small mahimahi that did not meet the club’s qualifying minimum weight were also caught. The largest ‘ahi and largest fish overall was a fat 140.5-lb ‘ahi by Capt. Ryan Sanoria and crew. The with Capt. Darin Okino landed two nice-sized ‘ahi. The largest ono was a 28.1-lb fish landed on the by Capt. Bryan Catriz and crew. The , the and the also landed nice-sized ono. There was no Grand Champion Award winner in this event.
