Hilo Trollers Year-End Tournament Awards

The Hilo Trollers held their annual banquet and awards ceremony on Saturday, October 19, at Nani Mau Gardens. There was a great turnout, and those who attended enjoyed some really bad fishy jokes and great prizes. The captains and crews that received year-end awards received significant social recognition.

Captains and crews compete for awards in the following categories: largest aku; smallest qualifying flag fish; total weight of ‘opala (ocean trash); largest flag fish; total weight for each of the flag fish; and the coveted Fisherman of the Year Award. The last award is based on the combined total weight
