STAFF PICKS

By the GAMES WORLD OF PUZZLES staff

This year, it’s safe to say that everyone on our staff is spending more time than usual at home. For us, that means more time to play games! We asked the GAMES WORLD OF PUZZLES staff what one game they are enjoying most right now. Hopefully the replies will give you some ideas—whether for holiday shopping or just for a new pastime!

OH HELL

TRICKSTERCARDS.COM: FREE

Right now the game I play the most is the card game Oh Hell. I sometimes play this in real life with my husband and son, but nearly every day, to. They have a lot of card games to choose from, but this is the only one I have tried; it is easy to figure out. Choosing the combo I like (10 card with Hook) sends me to a game sometimes with all computers, sometimes with real people and computers, sometimes all real people (my favorite). Twice I have been thrown into a game that my husband was already in, and that was startling but then fun, even though he beat me. My nom de Hell is Sheriff Jan because when we play in real life we call the winner “The Sheriff.” Honestly, I don’t win a lot, but it is a lot of fun and the anonymity pushes me to take chances I wouldn’t necessarily take in a live card game.
