SNETTERTON: BARC BY PETER SCHERER SEPTEMBER 19-20

LEGENDS SHINE AT SNETTERTON

Mini Seven champion Jeff Smith was on title-winning form again at Snetterton with a double victory.

Race one came down to a three-way fight between Smith, Spencer Wanstall andAndrew Deviny. They were three abreast through Coram two laps from home but Smith got a last-lap break to seal the win from Wanstall and Deviny.

Race two served up a one-lap sprint to the flag following a safety car intervention.At the green flag, it was Wanstall from Smith and Deviny again and they ran in line astern down the Bentley Straight, but Smith made the decisive move into Brundle and sealed win number two.

Miles Rudman and Jack Parker were the men to beat in the Legends Cars. Parker took six podium finishes and Rudman three wins.

There was a blanket finish in the first of Saturday’s races, with 0.215 seconds covering the top four. Rudman and Will Gibson shared most of the leading, but in the final charge from Murrays, Rudman had a mere 0.04s to spare from Conor Mills, Parker and Stephen Whitelegg after Gibson and John Mickel spun at Riches.
