Beef production: the next 10 years
The 2020 Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP) South African Baseline Agricultural Outlook, covering the period 2020 to 2029, was released recently.
According to BFAP, the fundamentals underpinning meat consumption are income levels and the resultant changes in spending power, population growth, and urbanisation. With income growth stagnating in recent years, growth in meat consumption has also slowed.
