APPRENTICE

NAME: CHRIS VINES

CAMERA: CANON EOS 760D

CHRIS IS a very keen birder and Canon enthusiast who loves to photograph birds of all types. He’s 65 years old and a retired insurance underwriter living near Bath. He asked for our help to get the most out of his Canon camera, as he often runs into trouble when trying to keep fast-flying subjects sharp. We arranged a photoshoot at a local bird of prey centre.

CANON PRO

NAME: DAN MOLD

CAMERA: CANON EOS-1D X MK III

OUR TECHNIQUE editor Dan has been a semi-pro for more than five years, and writing for photo mags for the best part of a decade. He’s shot many subjects, but wildlife is the genre he likes shooting most, whether it’s in his garden, local bird hide, deer park, or in the wild. This month we visited the West of England Falconry centre to improve reader Chris’s skills. www.digitalcameraworld.com/uk/author/dan-mold

TECHNIQUE ASSESSMENT

Before they started, Dan showed our Apprentice Chris a few key camera settings to help him get set to capture sharper shots of birds of prey in action in the air
