Selling fur in the round is a great way to cut time in the fur shed and often make more money. A well-spotted cat, good-looking silver raccoon or even an odd ‘possum can bring big bucks on the taxidermy market — if it is treated right. But, just because you don’t have to skin it, doesn’t mean that the fur doesn’t need to be handled properly.
To find out the best ways to deal with fur in the round I asked for the expertise of a trapper, fur buyer and taxidermist. Each one had a unique perspective on how to handle fur that is going to be a mount in someone’s living room.
