The recording of Thin Lizzy’s eighth studio album would prove quite a challenge. Indeed, 1977’s marked guitarist Brian Robertson’s final outing with the band, leaving guitar duties to the lone Scott Gorham on all but three songs. This month’s Classic Track is one of those Gorham-only numbers – a laid back, shuffle-feel soft rocker with an ‘earworm’ chord progression and a tightly delivered solo courtesy of the Californian guitarist. And, with those R&B-tinged horn lines, offers a counterpoint to some of the band’s heaviest material which appears on the album.
